The Drama School Session

A two hour session during which I will hear your voice, chose suitable songs for you, then go through them with you including all relevant research needed. At the end of the session you will be provided with a recording of the material allowing you to continue the preparation in your own time.

First Hour

• 20 minute warm up - enabling me to assess your voice, it's strengths/weaknesses and of course preparing you safely for the session.
• I'd like to hear at least one song that you feel particularly comfortable with, so that I can get an idea of where you are technically and performance wise.
• Having heard your voice in your chosen song(s) I will then recommend two songs for you to work on, which should show you off to your best advantage.

Second Hour

• The final hour of the session is taken up with working through the chosen songs - checking that they are in the best possible key for you.  Any transpositions that are deemed necessary will be included in the price of the session, with the music being snail mailed to you within 2 days of the session.
• After the initial note bashing we will explore the songs from both a musical and acting point of view.
• All research material concerning the chosen songs will be provided either on the day or via email within 24 hours of the session.
• All the chosen songs will be put down on tape in format that suits you best e.g. melody line only, piano accompaniment only, both.

Email Support

• After the drama school session you will be eligible to receive email support for up coming auditions.  Giving you a resource to ask those last minute questions that are niggling you.

A pre-booked 2 hour drama school consultancy will provide you with:-

• An honest appraisal of your voice in it's current state.
• A frank discussion of your strengths and weaknesses, both perceived and apparent.
• 2 new musical theatre songs suitable for the drama school entry audition.
• Help and advice on how to perform these songs to your best advantage.
• All songs to be in the best key for you (if transpositions are necessary please note that the transposed sheet music will be sent to you by snail mail within 2 days)
• A rehearsal tape to be provided of all new material.

COST

The price of the session is £150 payable on the day - this is to include all music and recordings. Once you have completed a Drama School session you will be eligible for email audition support.  This would enable you to get expert advice on up coming auditions as and when you needed it, including research on upcoming shows.

I require a days notice of any cancellation, thus enabling someone else to have your slot.  There is a £50 cancellation fee for cancellations on the day of the appointment.

Payment is either by cash or cheque on the day of the consultation, or you can pay via paypal with credit/debit card online.  If paying by card you will be expected to pay in advance - ensuring that the funds have been received before the consultation. As the cards take 5 days to be verified you will be expected to pay a week in advance.  A receipt will be provided for tax purposes on completion of the session.

FAQs

Sounds great, but it's too much money?

• An average vocal coach costs between £30 - £75/hr

• A music book costs anything from £10 upwards

• A transposed piece of music cost anything from £5/sheet upwards

• You are are not paying for a 'teacher' you are paying for a professional with a proven track record in both education and theatre.

What if 2 hours are not enough?

• The 2 hour session is more than enough time to find the material suitable for you and work on the initial stages of preparation.  However if you feel that you would benefit from a follow-up session, this can be booked within a month of the first consultation for the reduced fee of £100 for a further 2 hour session.

Where does the consultancy take place?

• At my home in Palmers Green, North London.  Directions will be emailed to you on confirmation of booking.

What if I need to cancel?

•  There is no penalty for cancelling appointments, as long as you give 24 hours notice.  However last minute cancellations will incur a cost of £50.

Can I share my session with a friend?

• The consultancy is a specialised service, tailored for the individual, therefore no shared sessions are available.
